Watteredge Inc., an Ohio based manufacturer and engineering company, has started generating electricity from its roof mounted 100 kilowatt solar power installation, NexGen Energy Partners announced today.
As part of its product line expansion, Watteredge produces cables and electrodes for the equipment that melts polysilicon material, the key component of solar panels.
“We’re redoubling our commitment to the solar industry by generating solar power on our own roof,” said Jim Campisi, plant manager at Watteredge. “We’re excited to get started.”
The newly installed solar system is expected to provide its host company with more than 110,000 kilowatt hours of clean electricity each year.
