Water Cooled Cable Design
Watteredge water cooled cables are designed and assembled to reach
maximum power and reliability on electric arc furnaces. Our line of water
cooled cables are available in both standard construction special rope
lay design and in an alternate construction of concentric design.water
cooled cables, copper cables
Each is individually designed to meet the particular requirements of
the furnace it will serve.
Special
Rope Lay Design
(standard construction)
The rope lay cable is made up with several large copper ropes ranging
in size from 1" diameter to 2" diameter. These ropes are laid
up around the core of the cable, on a specified pitch length, to maintain
its circular shape. Watteredge uses a copper rope with a 24 AWG strand.
This strand offers superior life expectancy over the 30 AWG strand used
by other cable manufactures.

Concentric
Lay Design
(alternate construction)
The concentric lay cable is the most efficient cable construction on
the market today. It is constructed with serveral bunches of 7/.064 strand
copper wire laid up around the core in a much shorter pitch length than
the rope lay cable. This construction permits the use of a heavier base
wire size without sacrificing any flexibility. But more importantly,
the available cross-sectional area of the copper is utilized to its maximum
efficiency, thus providing a cable with the lowest possible A.C. resistance
available anywhere. If maximum power input to your furnance is important
to you, ask us about this exclusive new cable design.
