Our proprietary vacuum contact switch design overcomes this shortcoming by hermetically sealing the contact surfaces in a vacuum environment.  This seal keeps out insulating oxides and environmental contaminants resulting in a consistently low resistance acrss the vacuum contact over the life of the switch.  

A highly reliable vacuum interrupter guarantees the vacuum degree for several years, typically above 20 years.
